Getting noticed and increasing visibility on Instagram is one of the best ways to really boost growth.
I've been getting lots of questions from creators asking how can they get more eyes on their accounts.
And no, it doesn’t necessarily mean you spending hours and hours engaging on the app.
Nowadays, there are many ways in which you can get more visibility on Instagram
These 9 tips you could start implementing now to increase your visibility.
1. Optimize your profile.
Yes, as simple as it sounds.
Making simple tweaks to your profile can help you start attracting more people!
Things to keep in mind:
Look at your IG handle: Is it serving you a purpose?
Your name: Are you using keywords from your niche? Remember, these words are searchable on Instagram.
Your bio: Are you stating your mission, your value proposition, and using more keywords?
Your Instagram highlights: Are they serving your profile visitor with a purpose? Is it telling them more about who you are and what you do?
Your feed: Does it stand out?
2. Have a content strategy that attracts more people
When you create content strategically and with a purpose, your content will start standing out.
When it stands out people share it, more people see it, Instagram recommends it to more people, and so on.
And by content, I don’t necessarily mean a photo. I mean everything you do like creating captions, appearing on stories, sharing your experiences, etc
3. Have an engagement strategy
By this, I mean setting time apart to engage in different ways and not with just the people on your feed.
Engage with accounts from the explore page
Reply to stories (from followers and from new accounts)
Engage with new accounts through hashtags
Engage with creators you follow
Engage with supporters from big accounts or influencers in your niche
4. Engage intelligently
Engaging is really more than just liking and commenting on some posts on your feed.
It means to really connect with your audience in a human way.
Don’t just comment with an emoji or with a “great post”.
Add real value, give your opinion, and ask a question. The more value that you give, the more likely you are going to create a connection with this creator.
And guess what!
If you always add value with your comments, people will start pinning them to the top of their posts meaning more people will see them.
And if they like what they read, they will certainly go visit your profile.
You then have an optimized profile, and you convert that visitor into a follower!
6. Getting suggested by Instagram
If you have an optimized profile with the right keywords, and you engage intelligently with the right accounts, Instagram will start recommending your account to other people on the suggested tab.
For example, you can see the types of accounts that are recommended by mine and they’re a mix of social media marketing and photography accounts.
7. Getting to the explore page
Perhaps the best way to get a lot of eyes in your profile is to land on the explore page, but it’s probably also the hardest!
Some tips to get to the explore page:
Create reels
Use more carousel posts
Add ALT text to your posts describing what the post is about
Engage with new accounts every day and if they engage back you will start showing up on their Explore feed
8. Collaborate with other creators
Collaborating with creators is one of my favorite things to do on IG, and it’s the perfect way to bring organic traffic to your page!
Collaborations can include:
IG lives
IG Rooms
Guest posts
Story takeovers
9. Create reels!
I know some people love reels, and some people hate them.
But let’s be honest, reels can get A LOT OF EYES into your account.
However, I know ‘going viral’ is not that easy. There is a lot of trial and error behind creating a good reel.
I know this might all seem too overwhelming, but I promise that by starting with small steps, you will start seeing big results!
