How to Create a Content Strategy: My 6-step Multi-Channel Content Strategy For Maximum Reach in 2023

Multi-Channel Content Strategy For Maximum Reach in 2023

In 2023, I made a game-changing decision to adopt a multi-channel content approach for my brand and business. The relentless fluctuations in reach on Instagram were taking a toll not only on my business but also on my self-esteem. Today, I'm excited to show you how to create a content strategy in 6 steps, which enabled me to expand to eight different channels.

This success has been driven by turning content creation into a habit, adding a structured approach, and leveraging the power of AI through my Content Power House system. This transformative strategy can work wonders, especially when you have a prime asset-based channel like a blog, podcast, or email newsletter, where you truly own your audience.

How to Create a Content Strategy for Maximum Reach

Step 1: Researching Trending Topics and Generating Ideas

The first step in my multi-channel content strategy is to thoroughly research trending topics on YouTube and Google Bard.

This research helps me identify popular subjects that are capturing the interest of my target audience.

Once I have my list of potential topics, I organize and manage them efficiently on ClickUp, a powerful task management tool.

Step 2: Strategic Planning for Content Creation

With the list of trending topics in hand, I move on to the planning phase.

Here, I carefully select the four most relevant topics for my business and audience at that specific time.

These topics will become the cornerstone of my content strategy for the following month.

By focusing on just four topics, I can ensure that my content remains consistent and coherent, allowing me to build a strong narrative around them.

Step 3: Incorporating SEO Strategies for Maximum Visibility

After choosing the key topics, I initiate the creation process by leveraging Google Bard once again.

This time, my goal is to find the most relevant keywords related to the selected topics. Integrating these SEO-rich keywords into my blog posts and YouTube videos gives them a higher chance of ranking well in search engines, increasing their visibility and organic reach.

Step 4: Harnessing the Power of AI for Content Creation

The fourth step involves crafting the content itself. I start by outlining a general structure with bullet points detailing the main components of the article or video.

Then, I turn to ChatGPT, an AI-powered writing assistant, to help me develop the content using researched keywords.

Moreover, I provide ChatGPT with a sample of one of my past blogs to ensure that the AI adopts my preferred writing style, tone of voice, and personality.

By combining AI technology with my own creativity, I can efficiently produce high-quality content that resonates with my audience while saving valuable time and effort.

Step 5: Reviewing and Polishing the Content

With the initial drafts in hand, I take the time to review and refine the content. It's essential to ensure that the content aligns with my brand's voice and resonates with my audience authentically.

If there are areas that don't quite capture my style or personality, I rewrite them until they reflect my true voice.

Step 6: Maximizing Content Distribution Across All Channels

The final step in my highly effective multi-channel content strategy is all about maximizing content distribution.

Once I have the core piece of written content, I transform it into multiple pieces tailored for each of my channels, creating a powerful content cascade that reaches a broader audience and generates more engagement.

YouTube and Email Newsletter:

The blog post serves as the foundation for my YouTube video.

I use it as a script, ensuring that the content is aligned across platforms.

Additionally, I craft a teaser for my email newsletter, providing subscribers with a sneak peek of the upcoming YouTube video.

The teaser includes a compelling Call to Action (CTA) that encourages readers to check out the full video on my YouTube channel, driving traffic and engagement.

Shorts and TikTok:

I take advantage of OpusClip, an AI-powered tool that efficiently breaks down the YouTube video into shorter, bite-sized clips suitable for Shorts on YouTube and TikTok.

These platforms thrive on quick, engaging content, and repurposing the main video allows me to tap into different audiences on both platforms.

Instagram Carousel or Reel

To engage my Instagram audience, I create an Instagram Carousel or Reel that revolves around the same topic discussed in the blog and YouTube video.

This approach caters to Instagram users' preferences for visual content while maintaining consistency across my channels.

Instagram Stories:

I make sure to talk about the topic on Instagram Stories, further emphasizing its importance and relevance and always add a link to the blog and YouTube channel.

LinkedIn and Facebook:

To reach a professional audience, I distribute my content on LinkedIn and Facebook.

I share the blog post or YouTube videos on these platforms with direct links, making it convenient for users to access the full content.

By targeting diverse social media platforms, I can engage with various audiences and strengthen my brand's presence across the digital landscape.
